Grief Support
All therapy is ultimately grief work. Being alive means experiencing deep loss and intense grief in multiple capacities. Unfortunately, our western, "doing-focused" culture rarely provides space or support for processing the complex spectrum of emotions experienced while grieving. Carrie’s work focuses on addressing this need.

There is no way through grief, past grief, or over it. Grief is an experience that is activated for the rest of our lives in both anticipated and unexpected ways. There are times when a poignant death, experience, or diagnosis is so shocking that grief is the equivalent of an emotional tsunami, washing away our very foundation.

Learning to meet and hold the energy of grief is essential. Grief support can take place in single or group sessions. Over the course of six weeks, clients tenderly engage with their grief experience, exploring different ways to work with, illuminate, transform and live with its ever-present reality.
Honoring grief and learning to live with it requires presence, attention, expression, space, time, patience, and personalized support tools/outlets. Carrie’s one-on-one and group grief support provide an intentional space for others to be present in their grief, while feeling and processing it in a safe and healing environment. This allows clients to create a more balanced and tender relationship with grief in all of its manifestations.
Grief work helps clients to move forward in life more openly and freely, while understanding that one does not “get through” grief, rather, one learns to live with it. Carrie helps clients to identify personalized tools which allow them to meet their grief whenever it arises and to cultivate a daily existence that has meaning and moments of greater Joy, Love, and Connection.
